STS-28 Columbia, OV-102, ET/SRB mating preparations at KSC VAB

Description: STS-28 Columbia, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 102, supported by its landing gear is positioned in transfer aisle of the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB). Technicians look on as frame suspended from overhead crane is aligned with four OV-102 attach points in preparation for external tank (ET) / solid rocket booster (SRB) mating. Work continues toward an early August launch of the STS-28 Department of Defense (DOD) dedicated mission. View provided by KSC with alternate number KSC-89PC-635.
