STS-32 FEA Honeywell In-Space Accelerometer (HISA)

Description: Tabletop view shows Honeywell In-Space Accelerometer (HISA), a 3-axis microgravity accelerometer instrument, to be used in conjunction with the Fluids Experiment Apparatus 3 (FEA-3) onboard Columbia, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 102, during STS-32. HISA will measure oscillating and transient accelerations over a range of 10 micro-g to 10 milli-g and a frequency band of 0.025 to 19.5 Hz. These accelerations are critical parameters for certain materials processes and come from such sources as: crew activity, propulsion systems, attitude control systems, and payloads.
