STS-65 International Microgravity Laboratory 2 (IML-2) insignia

Description: STS-65 Columbia, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 102, International Microgravity Laboratory 2 (IML-2) insignia represents the continuation of science and technology investigations that require the low-gravity environment of space as was the case of its predecessor IML-1 January 1992. The mission will have emphasis on experiments that study the effects of microgravity on materials processes and human organisms. Crewmembers will be NASA astronauts Commander Robert D. Cabana, Pilot James D. Halsell, Jr, Mission Specialist (MS) and Payload Commander (PLC) Richard J. Hieb, MS Carl E. Walz, MS Donald A. Thomas, and MS Leroy Chiao, along with Payload Specialist Chiaki Mukai. Mukai represents the National Space Development Agency (NASDA) of JApan.
